Light Fixtures and Switch Installation and Repairs in Central West Coast Florida

There are multiple reasons to update your light fixtures. Usually, it’s a décor update, but there are some mechanical issues that can happen too. As a responsible homeowner, Climate Design wants you to know, especially if you are thinking about a lighting fixture update, that we’re here to help with any type of light fixture. Regardless if it’s a pot light or recessed lighting, can lights, chandelier replacements or installations, or even fluorescent light fixture replacements, Climate Design Home Services electricians can not only install but also repair light fixtures.

Loose Wiring Connections:

An improper installation can in fact lead to a loose wire connection at the switch or at the light fixture. Typically, you’ll notice this when the light starts to flicker, fail to turn on, but more importantly, it can pose a fire hazard.

Compatibility Issues:

When getting ready to do a light fixture installation for a LED or smart light fixture, you may find that the switches are not compatible. You’ll mostly find this in older dimmer switches that don’t work with LED bulbs or lead to flickering. Another tell-tell sign of this is when you notice your bulbs having a short life span. However, we can make sure that when you tell Alexa to dim the lights, they actually do it properly.

Overheating and Overloading:

Different fixtures and even switches are rated for different electrical loads. If you find that a switch is warm or hot to the touch, it’s at risk for damage or even fire. Overheating can also occur if insulation is packed to tightly around fixtures.

Problems with Wear and Tear:

Over time, switches can develop faults as internal parts start to wear. Switches can stick, loose toggles, and become brittle, which prevents proper operation. This is mostly common in older switches.

Buzzing Noises from Switches or Lights:

Faulty switches may emit clicking, sizzling, buzzing, or popping sounds. These sounds are typically due to lose or worn connections.
When sounds are coming from a light fixture, it’s typically due to an incompatible dimmer switch, faulty ballast, or it can even be from an overloaded circuit or incompatible light bulb.

Why Upgrade a Light Fixture Here in Central West Coast Florida?

Here in the Suncoast region of Florida, sometimes repairing something is more expensive than upgrading to new. Typically, the newer installation is cheaper is the case with light fixtures. Not every case, but for most. One of the reasons is that you may have compatibility issues between the switch or dimmer and the light itself. The fix in this case would simply be to upgrade one or the other.

Here at Climate Design Home Services, we’ll inspect and look at the best cost option for you. If you’re upgrading for décor purposes, then we’ll make sure that your circuit breaker is fine with handling the new wattage. If not, our licensed electricians can upgrade your circuit breaker as well. Regardless of what you need to install your new fixtures correctly, Climate Design Home Services can make it happen. We’ll talk you through what work needs to happen and give you an itemized estimate. It’s that simple. Call us, and we’re happy to give you a free estimate and schedule a convenient time for you.
