  I took a position with Florida Power (Progress Energy) in St. Petersburg in 1985.  My home was only six years old then.  I had no idea how the previous owners of the home had taken care of the unit.  I wanted to have the heat pump and air handler checked out by a professional company, so I asked a fellow employee which company took care of his heat pump.  The answer was Climate Design.  I also asked the Conservation Department for a recommendation for a company that could install a unit that could use the use the heat pump to help heat my water.  Their answer was Climate Design is selling a Florida Power approved unit, is an approved contractor, and they do excellent work.  The first contact I had with Climate Design set the stage for a 24+ year relationship with them.  My heat pump has been upgraded twice in that time.  In one instance, the heat pump manufacturer had a recall because of a compressor problem.  Climate Design replaced that unit in one day.  After talking with Climate Design about improving the SEER rating of my unit, I had them upgrade the unit to one with two compressors, one for a light heat load and the other for the high temperature Florida afternoons.
